Dear Jane-Marie,
decorator
When did the calendar change to the week before Thanksgiving!?  I'm a little behind the eight ball with this holiday season this year.  So, I went out searching for some fun finds that would inspire me.  Read on . . .

Sincerely,

Fun Finds this Holiday Season

Check out these gems if you are looking to spruce up your home or buy gifts this season - each one represents a way to either save money, save the environment, or save the livelihood of an impoverished artisan:
  • H&B Gallery - Consignment Shop:  I love this place because it is so huge and overflowing with treasures.  You will find everything from antiques to mid-century pieces here.  Maybe an old cupboard that can be resurrected for a linen closet in a bathroom or repurpose an old silver pitcher as a vase.  Use your imagination.  Maybe this is the year to buy something used that tells a story and has some character.  And keep in mind reupholstering your finds too when you visit.

  • Succulent Wreath from Vivaterra.  Vivaterra is still one of my favorite green online stores.

  • Seret & Sons - fabulous Uzbekistan textiles including wall hangings, rugs and bedspreads.  I found this gem while in Santa Fe last year and wanted to take home a huge wall hanging right then and there.  Ever since I've been mesmerized by the intricate embroidery of Uzbekistan.  Google "Uzbekistan Textiles" to find ones you might want to purchase and help support these highly skilled artisans in the process.

Calling All Dreamers!

Bedroom InspirationEmbellishments Design Studio is looking for INSPIRATION ROOMS!  You may have seen Sensible Chic before on HGTV (if not, check it out here).  Well, I'm looking for a few good clients who are SMITTEN with a particular design in a magazine and are looking to recreate the look for less.

The design could involve an entire room, a chair and chest combo, a collection of art, or a great bed ensemble.  You name it!

Through the process, you'll learn how hunting for good design need not translate into paying top dollar prices.  So, start clipping your magazine articles.  We'll break down the design, roll up our sleeves (there might be spray-painting involved!), and end with a livable design you can afford.

Embellishments Design Studio provides interior decorating, space planning and color consultations, as well as custom window treatment designs and staging services so that you can transform the house you live in into the home you love!

Sincerely,
Jane-Marie Bloomberg
