Dear Jane-Marie,
decorator
This weather is really motivating me to give a fresh look to my home this Spring.  Not being able to open the windows for 6 months will just about make a person go crazy, so indulge yourself a bit with something fresh and inviting for your home.  Whether it's a remodeling project (check out green flooring below) or sprucing up the outdoors (watch for this month's Product of the Month newsletter coming soon), enjoy this opportunity to change your surroundings as nature changes before you!

Sincerely,

Jane-Marie
Quick Reference Guide to Green Flooring (from Prosource)

recycled synthetic carpetAs the opportunity to "go green" becomes more cost effective, there are ways to incorporate this idea into everything from your furniture to the paint you use to the floors under your feet.  Here is a quick guide to help you understand the benefits of green flooring and where to use it.

  • Pros:  Renewable resource, extremely durable, harder than red oak or maple
  • Uses:  Bedroom, living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, entryway
Carpet & Area Rug in natural fibers such as wool, or recycled synthetic fibers such as nylon:

  • Uses:  Formal areas, bedroom, stairs, living room, family room
Cork:
  • Pros:  Renewable resource, sometimes has recycled content, easy to clean if properly sealed, good foot support
  • Uses:  Kitchen, family room

Tile:

Wood:
